Everybody does it … some do it a few times a day.
Yet we act like it never happens.
I’m talking about going to the potty … or more specifically the stink we leave behind after going poo.
It so bad … I can smell you from here.
That’s what Suzy Batiz thought each time her husband used the bathroom. In fact she says the stench was so bad it was unbearable at times.
She was determined to get rid of his odor.
So Suzy began experimenting with mixing essential oils in hopes of creating a formula that eliminated those lingering nasty odors. Every time her husband went to the bathroom, she had a new mix ready.
For nine months straight she experimented.
Finally, she found the secret formula for eliminating his poo odors. In fact even her husband Hector knew she was onto something when he realized the smell was completely gone.
“We’re going to be millionaires,” he told her. And with that Poo Pourri was born.
But it doesn’t work like traditional odor eliminators. Instead of spraying after you are done, with Poo Pourri you spray ahead of time. It traps odors and by the time you are done making poo, you virtually smell nothing.
What’s remarkable about her climb to success is that by the first month, Poo Pourri was already being sold in 15 different stores.
In the first year alone, she sold $1 million worth of product.
But her big breakthrough came when she posted a humorous online video ad titled, “Girls Don’t Poop.”
The video quickly went viral.
Nearly overnight, she had $4 million worth of back orders for the spray.
Since she posted the video back in 2013, it’s now gotten over 44 million views.
After successfully creating her toilet spray for eliminating poo odors, she next created a line of cleaning products made from essential oils that aren't harmful to the environment but also get rid of odors.
In 2018, she introduced the world to her new line of products that she called Supernatural.
As crazy as her obsession with poo odor might sound, she managed to turn it into a $400 million business.
That’s right Dear Reader … she turned eliminating stinky bathroom odors into a big business.
In fact she was named on Forbes list of 100 Richest Self-Made Millionaires.
And she’s not done yet eliminating nasty poo smells. Next up is a line of odor eliminating sprays for pets.
An Entrepreneur at Heart
Suzy’s always had a passion for being an entrepreneur since the age of 16, when she painted clothes and sold them out of her car.
By age 19, she owned a bridal salon. Unfortunately it didn’t work out and one year later her business was bankrupt.
Her next business venture was creating an online recruiting website that matched potential employees with employers based on corporate culture.
That didn’t work out either. Her business went bankrupt. But her entrepreneurial spirit was still alive.
And as they say, the third time is a charm. Because that’s when she invented Poo Pourri (inspired of course by her husband’s poo).
A Sense of Humor
Suzy has a great sense of humor and has managed to poke fun at how people feel about poo odors. That humor comes through in the ads she creates for all of her products.
It even shows up on her business card, which identifies her as “Poo Executive Officer.”
Just goes to show that a little humor and a good idea can land you the title of Queen of the Can.
P.S. If you want to watch the video Suzy created, you can do so here. Warning: This video will make you laugh.

Making poo vs do poo ... I bet it all comes out the same LOL
Interesting to read the phrase "... making poo ..." Down here in Australia we "do poo" on assumption it's already made 😄
